Our Dog and Cat Grooming Services
Our groomers provide services that you may not be able to manage on your own. Furthermore, bringing in your pet for grooming gives us the chance to check them over from head to tail and see if there is anything unusual going on with their skin, ears, eyes, and/or mouth.
The services provided by our grooming team include:
Bathing
Every pet can benefit from a good bath. Our hospital offers a wide variety of pet-friendly shampoos that whisk away loose hair, dead skin cells, dirt, and oil, leaving the skin clean and the coat, shiny and supple. We also carry shampoos that can help treat itching, irritation, and dandruff.
Haircuts and Trims
Dogs and cats with medium to long coats may need regular cuts or trims to stay tidy. Left alone, long hair can become tangled and matted, which tugs at the skin and causes irritation. An appropriate haircut will free your pet of any mats or tangles, and can even help them stay cool in summer.
Dematting
Removing fur mats can be a daunting task, but it is necessary for the well-being of your pet. If you have a dog or cat suffering from fur mats, let us know! The effects of matted fur go beyond just the coat and skin; they can be very painful and make mild-mannered pets more irritable and withdrawn.
Ear Cleaning
Like us, pets can develop wax buildup in their ears. Unlike us, they can also have hair growing in their ears which causes irritation and retains moisture. To prevent ear infections, we’re more than happy to give your pet’s ears a thorough cleaning and remove any problem-causing hair, too.
Anal Gland Expression
While not the most pleasant topic, anal gland expression is nonetheless an essential service for many dogs (and occasionally cats) who need some extra help emptying out their anal glands. If you spot your pet scooting their butt on the floor or licking at their behind, they might need to see the groomer for an anal gland expression.
Nail Trims
Nail trims are extremely important for pets, especially if they don’t often engage in activities such as walking on asphalt or scratching at posts to keep their nails filed down. Overgrown nails can cause all sorts of problems, including incorrect foot posture, a poor gait, fungal infections, and even paw pad injuries. If you’re unable to trim your pet’s nails at home, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
